I remember a song that a rock band, Bachman Turner Overdrive recorded, "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet". The song was about a man and a woman. The woman "looked at him with big brown eyes and said, "You ain't seen nothing yet". Well, I was just thinking about all that is happening recently. Disasters, revolutions, our own spend-crazy government that threatens our way of life. Some of us have traumatic things that are much more imminent, and intimate. Conversely, there are still many good things in our lives: friends, family, love. God has given us the greatest love of all--Jesus--and Jesus says, "you ain't seen nothing yet. The Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 2:9 However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" We experience only the natural world. When we invite the Lord Jesus into our lives, a new power is given us, but we are still very limited by this world. We cannot even imagine what God has prepared for us in His Kingdom. We won't know until we get there. So, let us rejoice in that promise. |
